94 JG. "The 2009 Les Clos was also barrel-fermented in older barrels and it, too, has picked up just a trace of vanilla from the older wood. The bouquet is deep and flat out beautiful, as it offers up a complex blend of apple, lemon, complex limestone minerality, spring flowers, a touch of wet stone and the aforementioned vanilla. On the palate the wine is deep, complex and quite full-bodied, with a lovely core of pure, ripe fruit, a great spine of minerality, bright acids and stunning length and grip on the classy finish. A serious bottle of Les Clos." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2010, Issue #30 |
