93 ST. "(80% sauvignon blanc from Farina Vineyard on Sonoma Mountain and 20% semillon from Hyde) Pale, bright yellow. Wonderfully fresh aromas of grapefruit pith, honey, lanolin, minerals and fresh herbs. Dense and sweet, with terrific grip and pungency to the flavors of grapefruit, lemon and anise. Wonderfully chewy and tactile wine with a reverberating finish. This stayed fresh in the recorked bottle for days. Most of the sauvignon blanc component did not go through malolactic, but all of the semillon did-"to accentuate its honeyed character," noted winemaker Erickson." Vinous, May 2009 |
