93-95 WA. "The 2005 Vosne Romanee Les Suchots Vieilles Vignes – of which, like the Beaux Monts, there will be a relatively generous 125 cases – is slightly less overtly rich than that wine, but with a sleek, refined, subtly flower-tinged liqueur-like fruit character, in this case of black currant and cherry. Smoked meat as well as vanilla cream character and subtle caramelization from the wood are nicely balanced by bitter notes of cherry pit and chalky minerality. This Pinot’s polished, creamy length is irresistible – finessed rather than flamboyant." Wine Advocate #171, Jun 2007 |
