"The 2009 Montée de Tonnerre from Domaine William Fèvre is excellent and really shows off the beautiful synthesis of perfectly ripe, pure fruit, striking minerality and snappy acids that the best wines of Chablis possess in this vintage. The nose is deep, pure and beautiful, as it offers up scents of lime zest, green apple, grapefruit, very complex minerality, a touch of smokiness, straw and a bit of green Chablisienne fruit in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and beautifully balanced, with a lovely core of fruit, superb focus and excellent cut and grip on the long and poised finish.
