Lot #115. Armand Rousseau Chambertin 1993

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 98 JG.
"The 1993 Rousseau Chambertin is an absolutely brilliant wine, but it is so young as to border on criminal to be opening bottles today. The nose is deep, noble and primary, offering up notes of red plums, blackberries, espresso, incipient notes of grilled meats, hints of blood orange, violets, mustard seed, earth and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, tight and laser-like, with a rock solid core of black fruit, excellent transparency, modest tannins, tangy acids, and outstanding length and grip on the finish. While this wine is very impressive to drink today, it clearly is in need of another decade to really blossom and show all the facets of its precious gem-like personality. I would opt for leaving it alone until then, as there are plenty more fireworks to come down the road with this great example of the vintage." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jul/Aug 2006, Issue #4
