92 JG. "The Climats du Coeur bottling from Gevrey-Chambertin is made up of grapes from the following premier cru vineyards: Lavaux St. Jacques, Combes aux Moines, Craipillots, Fontenys, Champonnets, Petite-Chapelle, Poissenots and Bel-Air, with all of the grapes being brought in on either the 15th or 16th of September. Jeremy Seysses has done the vinification and raising of the wine, which was fifty percent de-stemmed and raised in forty percent new oak in 2009. It will of course only be available as part of the four magnum case offered through the website at www.climats-du-coeur.com and to date there are still cases available. The wine is going to be a very strong example of the vintage, as it offers up a beautiful nose of red and black cherries, a touch of gamebird, lovely soil tones, mustard seed, coffee and a gentle touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very suave on the attack, with lovely focus and balance, a fine core, blossoming complexity and impressive length and grip on moderately tannic finish. This should drink splendidly with about five years of bottle age under its belt and in its magnum format, have no difficulties keeping for thirty years or more. A really lovely, lovely bottle of wine for a very good charity." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, http://Nov/Dec 2010, Issue #30 |
