Lot #118. Petrus 1978

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Region: France, Bordeaux, Pomerol.
Score: 18.5 JR.
"Pale, mid rusty-ruby. Sweet liqueur on the palate with a slightly dusty nose. Very sweet start and fully developed with attractive dusty, biscuit (sweet tea biscuit) aromas. Very fresh with more depth than any other 1978 red bordeaux I can remember, but no excess of alcohol. Jewelly texture and freshness and great opulence but in a fresh idiom. Wonderfully complete even if not the headiest, densest P├ętrus. Very, very long." JancisRobinson.com, Dec 8 2009
Provenance: The Bonhomme Cellar
Notes: Very top shoulder, lightly scuffed capsule, nicked, lightly scuffed, lightly damp stained, lightly wine stained label.
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $1,500
