Lot #319. Haut-Brion 1926

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 97 RP.
"The 1926 vintage, one of the best years in the decade of the twenties, has always been overlooked in favor of the 1921, 1928, and 1929. Reputed to be one of the great wines of the vintage, the 1926 Haut-Brion is unusual in its roasted, chocolatey, sweet, dense, thick style. It reveals an impressive deep color with some orange at the edge and a huge nose of tobacco, mint, chocolate, grilled nuts, and smoked duck. Full-bodied and powerful, with amazing thickness and unctuosity, but extremely tannic and rustic, this atypical Haut-Brion will last . . ." Wine Advocate #95, Oct 1994
Provenance: The Siècle Cellar
Notes: Low shoulder, scuffed, very lightly bin soiled capsule, short Château-branded capsule reveals vintage-branded cork, lightly scuffed, lightly torn, damp stained, very lightly mold stained, lightly bin soiled, nicked label. #2863.
