95+ JG. "Domaine Etienne Sauzet) The 2013 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet from Domaine Etienne Sauzet is a gorgeous example of the vintage in the making, as these seventy-plus year-old vines have turned out a great performance in this vintage. The utterly classic nose delivers a nascently complex and very pure blend of white peach, lemon, complex, chalky minerality, spring flowers, lemon zest and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and bottomless, with a very minerally personality out of the blocks this year, laser-like focus and great cut and grip on the long and classy finish. A supremely elegant and intensely flavored example of this great terroir." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2014, Issue #54 |
