93 JG. "The 2011 La Forêts seems a tad riper in terms of its fruit tones than the Minots, but it too possesses absolutely stellar transparency down to its underlying terroir and great vibrancy and bounce. The ripe and very, very classy bouquet delivers scents of apple, pear, chalky minerality, dried flowers, straw, flinty overtones and orange zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully soil-driven, with bright acids, excellent focus and balance and a very long, suave and classic finish. These vines are also over seventy years of age and it shows!" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2012, Issue #42 |
