. JG. "Like so many examples of Bourgogne rouge in 2016, Ghislaine Barthod’s bottling is really superb in this vintage. The bouquet is very pure and has a nice touch of sappiness in its composition of red and black cherries, a touch of nutskin, complex soil tones and a lovely topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and focused, with a fine core of pure fruit, just a whisper of backend tannin and impressive focus and grip on the vibrant and sappy finish. Really a pretty bottle of Bourgogne." John Gilman, View From The Cellar, Nov/Dec 2017, Issue #72 |
