Lot #344. Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese #08 2007

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 97 JG.
"The 2007 Hermannshöhle Spätlese is utterly classic in its aromatic and flavor profile, and it too is destined to be a monumental example of the vintage. The bouquet offers up a reserved and stunning blend of grapefruit, petrol, layer upon layer of slate, white grape and iris blossoms. On the palate the wine is medium-full, crisp and complex (mostly from nuances of slate today), with stunning mid-palate depth, laser-like focus, snappy acids and an utterly profound, racy and endless finish. Today this wine is coiled and will need several years in the cellar to open, but already its brilliant quality is very easy to read. Could this be even better than the Brücke Spätlese when all is said and done?" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Mar/Apr 2008, Issue #14
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $180
