Lot #208. Hudelot-Noëllat Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2002

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 98+ JG.
"The 2002 RSV from Hudelot-Noëllat was the single finest young wine I tasted on this trip. If it makes its way into bottle with the same flamboyant character as it displays out of barrel, then it will make a strong run at wine of the vintage honors. The majestic bouquet offers up a stunning mélange of candied red and black raspberries, intense Vosne spices, strikingly pure minerality, pungent rose tones (Fragrant Cloud?), Valrhona chocolate and a delicate framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine mirrors the purity and unbelievable nascent complexity of the nose, with great depth of sappy fruit at the core, stunning acidity that pulls everything taught, and a perfect balance of structural elements. This is a full-bodied wine that absolutely dances across the palate. Magnificent." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov 2003
Provenance: The Friendship Cellar
Notes: 2cm, very lightly scuffed vintage neck tag, lightly damp stained, very lightly scuffed, nicked label.
