Lot #393. Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle 1966

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Region: France, Rhône, Hermitage.
Score: 97 NM.
"A surprisingly deep garnet colour with less maturation on the rim compared to the Hermitage La Chapelle 1980. An intense, lifted nose with great definition: scents of mulberry, kirsch, fresh dates, dried fig and a gamey note that becomes more dominant with aeration. Full-bodied on the palate, corpulent in texture with game, cooked meats, leather, thyme and damson. This must have been incredibly opulent and decadent in its youth, vestiges of which can be found in the sweet, irresistible finish. A self-effacing wine that does not know how good it is. Imperious." Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Sep 2007
Provenance: The Courchevel Cellar
Notes: 3.5cm, Very lightly scuffed, slightly protruding cork capsule, lightly scuffed, lightly damp stained, lightly bin soiled, nicked label.
