91 RP. "Vineyard 29 has introduced a Cabernet Franc from their estate. The 2012 Cabernet Franc 29 Estate (96% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon) is excellent. There are some blue and black fruits, forest floor and floral notes. It is medium-bodied, but doesn’t have the staying power and finish that I’ve seen in the greatest Cabernet Francs, the likes of Luc Morlet and others in Napa Valley. Sitting on the valley floor just to the northeast of Vineyard 29 (north of Highway 29 north of St. Helena) is the Aida Estate – first brought to my attention when Larry Turley was producing some great Zinfandels from this site. It looks like Châteauneuf du Pape with plenty of rocks, and the Cabernet Sauvignon that emerges is owned by Vineyard 29, and it has been pretty sensational since the beginning. Vineyard 29 produces a reasonably priced Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that has been primarily for consumers looking for immediate gratification, as well as the restaurant trade."
