"Another full-bore California Syrah, Tensley’s 2012 Syrah Colson Canyon has a ripe, sweet and decadent style. Loaded with cassis, pepper, smoked meats and melted licorice, it has no hard edges, overflowing sweet fruit and a polished feel. It pushes the sweetness level, and won’t be for everyone, but it has loads of charm and is a joy to drink. This is another great lineup by Joey Tensley. He has a couple new releases in the lineup (Syrah 27m and the Tensley Vineyard), and his single vineyard releases continue to offer sensational value." Wine Advocate #214, Aug 2014 |
