Lot #960. Tensley Syrah Thompson Vineyard 2014

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 93-96 WA.
"Maybe the best Thompson Vineyard Syrah to date, the 2014 Syrah Thompson Vineyard still has its savory, peppery and olive-scented bouquet, yet has an uncommon, massive core of fruit and texture that carries through the mid-palate and finish. Beautifully concentrated, full-bodied and decadent, with good acidity and notable tannin, enjoy this big, powerhouse Syrah on release and over the following decade. Santa Barbara County’s Joey Tensley continues to make ripe, textured and voluptuous wines that deliver serious bang for the buck. The latest 2013s and 2014s are all outstanding. However, recent vintages are pushing on the sweetness level, and in a number of cases, there’s obvious residual sugar in the wines." Wine Advocate #220, Aug 2015
Provenance: The Indigo Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $25
