93+ JG. "Corbeaux, right next to Mazis-Chambertin, is one of the coolest microclimates in Gevrey, and in 2009, this was not necessarily a bad thing. Denis Bachelet observed that “the cooler soils in Corbeaux always produce more masculine wines” in comparison to other top premier crus in the village. The 2009 Corbeaux is really a stunning wine in the making, as it offers up scents of black cherries, cassis, dark berries, grilled meats, black minerality and a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite powerfully built, with a rock solid core of fruit, firm, but ripe and very even tannins, good acids and great length and grip on the focused and perfectly balanced finish. This will take a good decade to really blossom, but it will be a great bottle at its apogee and should prove to be particularly long-lived for a 2009."
