Lot #170. Magdelaine 1959

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 96 NM.
"The 1959 Magdelaine is a vintage that hitherto I had never drunk. What a sublime Saint-Émilion! The bouquet is exquisite: shimmering red fruit, rose petal and traces of camphor, vibrant and elegant. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, perfectly pitched acidity and an almost Burgundy-like texture and purity. This is an utterly charming Magdelaine . . . . Tasted at a private dinner in Bordeaux." Neal Martin, Vinous.com, Nov 2020
Provenance: The Foxy Cellar
Notes: Upper mid shoulder, nicked, lightly wrinkled, lightly corroded capsule, lightly damp stained, lightly faded, lightly scuffed, import sticker partially covering label.
