Coffee, tar and leather notes are followed by wonderfully rich if slightly austere, large scaled flavors that are quite powerful though at this stage, they are not especially nuanced. There is still tannin to be resolved on the long, intense, almost pungent finish. This is identifiably Vosne in character with the size and richness of a grand cru though it lacks the finesse of one.
