96-100 RP. "The Chardonnay Cuvée Indigène was inspired by Helen Turley in 1988. Essentially a winemaker’s barrel selection from the finest lots of the Old Wente clone, the dominate clonal component of all these single-vineyard wines, it is fermented with natural yeasts, and has always been one of Peter Michael’s finest Chardonnays. There are 360 cases of the 2013 Chardonnay Cuvée Indigène, which exhibits lots of honeyed pear characteristics intertwined with notions of gun flint, subtle smoke and leesy candle wax notes, medium to full body, and a distinct earthy/terroir character." eRobertParker.com #216, Dec 2014 |
