92 JG. "1987 was the last vintage of the Vosne-Romanée “Brûlées” to be bottled under the Henri Jayer label, as the vines that were en metayage reverted back to Domaine Méo-Camuzet upon Jayer’s 65th birthday in 1987. The vintage of 1987 produced a number of truly delicious wines . . . . The bouquet is as pure and complex as ever . . . . Scents of ripe raspberries, plums, dark chocolate, spit-roasted venison, Vosne spices, sous bois, vinesmoke and vanillin oak jump from the glass. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, but deep and intensely flavored, with great definition and purity, and a fine, long and tangy finish."
