Region: Volnay, Burgundy, France
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Classification: Premier Cru
Importer:
Score: 92-94VM
Review: "Bright, dark red; not quite as ruby as the Clos du Verseuil. A slightly high-toned aroma of kirsch is quite primary and even a bit inky. Juicy and intensely flavored, showing terrific definition but also a distinct thickness of texture, no doubt partly due to the high percentage of millerandage in these vines (production was barely 20 hectoliters per hectare). Currently showing more fruit than soil in the middle palate but the very long finish reveals subtle earth tones. A wonderfully seamless wine with suave tannins and an exhilarating light touch."

"There is an overt spiciness to the even more restrained nose that blends notes of both red and dark cherry, plum, violet, lavender and a whiff of warm earth. The sleek, intense and chiseled middle weight flavors flash ample minerality before terminating in a youthfully austere and wonderfully persistent finish that, like the Clos du Verseuil, is impeccably well-balance" 91-94 Points Burghound
