"The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a very elegant bouquet: perfumed red cherry fruit, raspberry and light oyster shell aromas evolving with aeration. Very comely! The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, plenty of vivacious red fruit laced with orange zest/blood orange that segues into a poised and quite persistent finish. An excellent Suchots from a Domaine that deserves a higher profile. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting." |

"A slightly riper and definitely spicier nose reveals an elegant mix of dark currant, plum, violet and pekoe tea. The sleek yet succulent and wonderfully rich medium weight flavors brim with sappy dry extract that also imparts a caressing mouthfeel to the mid-palate though the driving and beautifully persistent finish is shaped by a more pronounced core of firm tannins.
