94 JG. "The 2010 Barthod Beaux Bruns is simply stunning this year, with great complexity on both the nose and palate. The stunning, black fruity bouquet delivers a very pure mélange of black cherries, dark plums, a touch of currant leaf, dark chocolate, violets, complex soil tones and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and simply laser-like in its focus, with a great core of sappy fruit, bright, zesty acids, excellent focus and very impressive backend energy on the ripely tannic, almost velvety finish. This too will need some time in the cellar, but the 2010 Beaux Bruns from Ghislaine Barthod is very, very special indeed- perhaps the greatest example of this cru chez Barthod that I have ever tasted."
