Lot #50. Gruaud-Larose 1979

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 91-93 NM.
"This has everything I look for in a great claret. The nose is sweet at first, almost Pomerol like, developing into a lovely savory nose with scents of roast beef. The palate has a wonderful balance, superb acidity and impressive concentration. The austerity at the end balanced by the lovely sweet mid-palate. Definitely at its peak now. Checking Robert Parker's guide, in 1991 he believed the wine would be past it by 2000. Well, I think he'll have a pleasant surprise when he retastes this." Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Jun 2003
Provenance: The Multitude Cellar
Notes: Base neck, lightly scuffed, lightly wine stained, lightly damp stained capsules, very lightly scuffed, very lightly damp stained label.
