93 WA. "The 2012 Zeltinger Schlossberg Riesling Schmitt was picked on November 9 (the latest of the three single-parcel crus) and shows a nice, pure bouquet of very ripe tropical fruit flavors (pineapples!) intermixing with herbal, floral and crushed-stone flavors. Rich and sweet, but also very mineral and salty on the palate, this full-bodied (8.5% alcohol plus 88.5 grams per liter residual sugar), slightly creamy and very elegant wine finishes with a stimulating piquant and salty taste. It is quite noble, but also has a nice grip. The anticipated aging potential should be very good." eRobertParker.com #217, Feb 2015 |
