Lot #269. Henri Jayer Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1985

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 94 JG.
"I have had the pleasure to taste this lovely wine on a couple of previous occasions, and well-stored bottles are absolutely sublime. Here is an example of Burgundy at its finest delicacy, with tremendous complexity and intensity of flavor coupled to an ethereal palate impression of no more than medium body. The bouquet is hauntingly beautiful, redolent of sweet black cherry, black raspberry, duck, woodsmoke, herb tones, fine soil nuances that I would not call “minerally”, spice tones of cinnamon and nutmeg, sous bois and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is broad but light on its feet, with wonderful transparency, great pinot tang, superb soil inflection, and impeccable focus and shape on the long, bouncy and stunning finish. A magnificent showing for this wine." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Oct 2003
Provenance: The Maltais Cellar
Estimate: $6,000
