93 JG. "The 2008 Vaudésir from the Drouhin family is really outstanding, as it offers up a stellar and quite classic nose of apple blossoms, lemon, grapefruit, complex, chalky soil tones and just a whisper of vanillin oak (despite the wine being raised all in older barrels). On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, crisp and beautifully complex, with a rock solid core of fruit, brisk acids, great focus and a very long and very refined finish. A beautiful bottle of Vaudésir." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #24, Dec 2009 |
