Lot #385. Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Stags Ridge Vineyard 2014

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 96 RP.
"As for the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate, this is another Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wine (95% with the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot). Built along the same lines as its cellarmates, it is inky purple in color, with notes of pen ink, licorice, black truffle, forest floor, blackberry and blueberry fruit. The wine has terrific aromatics, a stunning attack and mid-palate, and a finish of close to 45+ seconds. It is a big wine, but again, the velvety plushness of the 2014 vintage is on full display . . . . One of my favorite wineries, Beau Vigne’s 10-acre vineyard sits at a high 1,650-foot elevation in the southern Napa Valley, back Soda Canyon Road, overlooking the Pritchard Hill Gap as well as the Stagecoach Vineyard. The AVA for these wines is Atlas Peak, and the soils are all of volcanic origin. The top-notch consulting winemaker is none other than Kirk Venge. The 2014s are terrific, more fruit-forward follow-ups to their magnificent 2013s and dramatic 2012s, as this winery is currently on a qualitative roll." Wine Advocate #228, Dec 2016
Provenance: The Dogwood Cellar
