Lot #151. La Couspaude St. Emilion 1995

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 90 RP.
"This is another offering from the exotic Le Pin-school of Saint-Émilions that are made from extremely ripe fruit, aged in 100% new oak (the malolactic fermentation is also done in new oak), and bottled without filtration. The 1995 La Couspaude exhibits a ripe, jammy kirsch, black currant, and licorice-scented nose with plenty of smoky, pain grille notes. Full-bodied, with low acidity, and a flamboyant personality, this wine will unquestionably cause heads to turn . . . . this is a fun wine to taste, and no one can argue that it does not provide pleasure - and isn't that the ultimate objective of drinking this stuff? Moreover, it will age well and become even more civilized with cellaring. This small estate, which has been producing very high quality wines recently, deserves attention from serious Bordeaux drinkers." Wine Advocate #115, Feb 1998
Provenance: The Mode Cellar
Notes: Very lightly scuffed, very lightly bin soiled label.
