88-91 AM. "There are two sub-climats: A l'Ecu and the 2.39 ha Clos de l'Ecu, also seen spelled Clos l'Écu in some reference texts. The Clos de l'Ecu is now a monopole of Domaine Faiveley and '03 was the first vintage. A gentle touch of wood frames a pretty mélange of red, blue and violet aromas that sit atop slightly toasty middle weight flavors and a sweet, intense and concentrated finish. This completely coats the mouth with its generous and fleshy flavors that are easy to like . . . plus there is plenty of aging potential. A big Beaune. Burghound.com, Jan 01, 2007 |
