95+ JD. "The 2015 Zinfandel 1910 Block comes from an estate vineyard in the Russian River Valley and includes smaller amounts of Peloursin, Negrette, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Carignan. It spent 16-18 months in neutral oak. This inky colored effort boasts a rockstar bouquet of ripe plums, blueberries, melted licorice, leather, and road tar. It's deep, opulent, and incredibly hedonistic, with ripe, sweet tannin, a big, stacked mid-palate, and a great finish. Reminding me of an old vine Carignan blend from the South of France, this powerful, yet beautifully balanced and singular beauty needs to be tasted to be believed. Winemaker Jake Bilbro has produced a bevy of brilliant Zinfandels . . ." Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, Jun 2018 |
