92 JG. ". . . 1985 Barolo Prapó from Ceretto is a lovely example of the vintage, with the wine showing very good evolution at the moment and it is eminently drinkable today with sufficient air, though there remains a good chassis of tannin and the wine is still probably four or five years away from really reaching its plateau of peak maturity . . . . The deep and very classy nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, camphor, gamebirds, mustard seed, oregano, forest floor and gentle notes of tariness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and already quite suave on the attack, with a fine core, a fair bit of ripe tannin and lovely length and grip on the well-balanced and blossoming finish."
