92 ST. "Fresh, deep red. Huge, superripe nose combines black plum, brown spices, mocha, chocolate and roasted herbs. Voluptuous, superripe and very sweet, with a lushness of texture rare for young Bonnes-Mares. This has freshness and thrust, thanks to the inherent structure of this grand cru, but seems almost too sweet for Bonnes-Mares. Finishes very long, with sweet, fine, building tannins. Like the Amoureuses and Clos de Beze, this is in the neighborhood of 14% alcohol." Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 03 |
