97 NM. ". . . Christophe Roumier apparently had to re-barrel, as the original vessel was thought to be overly oaky. It was worth the effort because I adored this wine. A seamless nose of raspberry, wild strawberry and cranberry, yes with some tangible new oak but perfectly in tune with the fruit aromatics. The medium-bodied palate is utterly harmonious with a freshness and vitality that I was not anticipating. Very natural and refined, ironically an 'effortless' feel to it given the travails in its élevage. Quite feminine and utterly entrancing." Neal Martin, Wine Journal, Oct 2006 |
