92 JG. "The Rollin family has very old vines in the premier cru of Fichots, with two-thirds of the vines now sixty years of age and the other third now in excess of eighty years old. The wine has turned out beautifully in 2014, offering up a fine, black fruity nose of black cherries, dark berries, espresso, a fine base of soil, a bit of roasted venison and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite reserved in profile, with a fine core, very good length and grip, ripe tannins and fine balance on the classy and youthful finish. Another excellent red chez Rollin." John Gilman, View From The Cellar #62, Apr 2016 |
