"A reserved but impressively complex and spicy nose introduces intense, austere and completely backward and still firmly structured and robust medium full flavors of impressive depth and length. The tannins are slightly edgy and while not aggressive, they are sufficiently prominent that it is not entirely clear that this will come together over time even though I don't think there is any risk of it falling seriously out of balance either. Either way, it clearly needs additional time to round out the tannins and to open up as it is presently not expressing much, even with several hours of air." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Jan 2005 |
