Lot #716. Schloss Reinhartshausen Erbacher Marcobrunn Riesling Trocken #32 2015

Description: Consists of 5 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 92 WA.
"Compared to the pure and mineral Siegelsberg "GG," the 2015 Marcobrunn Grosses Gewächs is more open and aromatic on the elegant and refined, slightly flinty and refreshing quartzite nose that has kept a pure heart. Fresh and elegant with a vital finish, this is another excellent example of the unrivaled talent of deep soils in hot years. This is a medium to full-bodied yet not heavy or mighty Marcobrunn in the elegant, refined and purely mineral and refreshing style. The 2015 is not as rich and powerful as we know this cru from so many other wines, but its salty vitality on the finish is gorgeous and promising. 12.5% alcohol. Tasted in November 2019 (AP 32 16). Tasted three years after release, the Riesling from Schloss Reinhartshausen underlines the increasing quality of this traditional wine from the Lergenmüller family from the Pfalz. Namely, the dry Riesling crus are excellent and so are the Spätlesen. Sweeter predicates tend to be all too sweet and rather disappointing, though. Surely a producer to watch not only due to its almost 682 years of history but also because of the seriously good dry Rieslings." Wine Advocate Interim, Jan 2020
