Lot #307. Mas de Boislauzon Chateauneuf du Pape Les Deux Chenes 2007

Description: Consists of 3 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 94 RP.
"The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape, a big time sleeper of the vintage, is well-worth buying. The finest traditional Chateauneuf produced at Mas de Boislauzon, it boasts a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a spectacular nose of licorice, black raspberries, black cherries, and lavender, and an exquisitely full-bodied, multidimensional and layered wine with not a hard edge to be found. Tremendous depth, beautiful freshness, and admirable purity suggest this 2007 will evolve . . . . Readers should move quickly to secure some of this fabulous bargain. Ever since I began following this small domaine (22 acres) fifteen years ago, the quality of their wines has increased with every top vintage. The brother and sister team of Daniel and Christine Chaussy is responsible for the wine. They introduced the Cuvee du Quet a decade ago, it comes from a specific parcel of old vines. Their newest offering is the 100% old vine Mourvedre called Le Tintot. Readers may remember my enthusiastic notes last year, and every 2007 I tasted this year, especially the perfect Cuvee du Quet, and the traditional cuvee, performed dramatically better than anticipated."
