93+ JG. "The 2013 Cherbaudes from Louis Boillot is also outstanding, as these very old vines have really excelled in this vintage. The outstanding nose jumps from the glass in a blaze of cherries, plum, mustard seed, coffee, incipient notes of venison, vanillin oak, lovely soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied and beautifully soil-driven, with a rock solid core of fruit, suave tannins, tangy acids and great focus and grip on the very long and beautifully balanced finish. High class juice." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #54, Dec 2014 |
