Lot #34. Domaine Dujac Echézeaux 1996

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 93 JG.
"The 1996 Dujac Echézeaux is not quite as open on the nose as the domaine’s ’96 Clos de la Roche, and also seems to really want a few more years in the cellar to fully blossom and start to drink at its peak. However, the constituent components are unmistakably in place here for future excellence. The simply beautiful nose offers up a still fairly youthful mélange of cherries, blood orange, gamebirds, cinnamon, sous bois, smoke and a nice framing of cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and very complex, with beautiful balance, tangy acids, a lovely core of fruit and still a fair bit of tannin to resolve on the long, tangy and classy finish. With a few more years bottle age, this should prove to be a dynamite example of the vintage." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #35, Oct 2011
Provenance: The Nantais Cellar
Notes: Very lightly wrinkled capsule, lightly scuffed label.
