92 WA. ". . . An old-fashioned, muscular Burgundy that wafts from the glass with notions of plummy fruit, cedar chest, subtle spices and grilled meat. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a thick, sinewy quality despite the largely melted state of its tannins, blanched by succulent underlying acids and concluding with a long, sapid finish. This really is a wine from another era, but readers who appreciate the style will find an utterly classic Rugiens." William Kelley, Wine Advocate Interim, Jul 2020 |
