Lot #364. Camille Giroud Corton 1947

Description: Consists of 3 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 95 AM.
"This is one of the rare '47s that I have had in the last ten years that didn't display even a trace of volatile acidity though to be sure, the fully secondary and highly complex nose was clearly a product of the vintage as it's very ripe with ample amounts of spice, smoke, warm earth and the classic Corton animale character. The big, rich and still admirably concentrated flavors possess plenty of muscle and power that continues onto the mouth coating, delicious and strikingly long finish. This is still a monument of a wine and it's clear that the decades of very cold storage in the Giroud cellars have served this wine well as it's still sipping from the fountain of youth." Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Jul 2010
Provenance: The Mandarine Cellar
Notes: 2x 4.5cm, 1x 4cm, slightly protruding corks, very lightly scuffed corks, lightly mold stained labels.
