94 JG. "The supremely elegant terroir of Les Goulots (tucked up above Champeaux and contiguous to Combes aux Moines on the Combe de Lavaut) is perfectly suited to the style of the 2005 vintage, and not surprisingly the wine has excelled in this vintage. The nose is a brilliant mélange of candied red and black cherries, a touch of blood orange, cocoa, earth and violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full and sappy, with brilliant focus and balance, a great core, laser-like focus, and great depth on the long, ripely tannic and very tangy finish. This is a stellar bottle of Gevrey premier cru." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #6, Dec 2006 |
