92 JG. "The 2009 vintage has really turned out a charming Roulot rendition of Meix Chavaux. The nose is a complex and absolutely classic mélange of apple, lemon, hazelnuts, lovely minerality, spring flowers and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very, very pure, with a lovely base of soil, a rock solid core of fruit, bright acids and really stunning length and grip on the zesty finish. Usually I have a slight preference in the Roulot cellars for the Tillets and Luchets over the Meix Chavaux bottling, but not this year, where I have to give this a slight nod over the Luchets, and rank it neck and neck with the Tillets. A great vintage for the Roulot Meix Chavaux." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #30, Dec 2010 |
