92 ST. "Bright straw-yellow. Reticent nose hints at menthol and white pepper. Then juicy and concentrated in the mouth, offering terrific verve and silky weight to the flavors of pineapple, grapefruit and white bread. The wine's insidious sweetness is perfectly buffered by strong acidity and a low pH. Very backward compared to the 2014 version, but wonderfully juicy and long . . . . Mugnier's 2013s offer a rare combination of concentrated, creamy fruit; relatively low pHs; and the spine for long aging." Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com, Nov 2015 |
