94+ JG. "The 2011 Raveneau Blanchots was also a touch reduced in November, but like the Montée de Tonnerre, with a bit of swirling in the glass, this wine roared to life. This very deep and broad-shouldered wine offers up a lovely bouquet of apple, pear, lemon blossoms, chalky soil tones, beeswax and a touch of licorice in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very primary, with a rock solid core of fruit, outstanding focus and grip and a very, very long, racy and impeccably balanced finish. What a great bottle of Blanchots this will be with a few years of cellaring." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2012, Issue #42 |
