Lot #246. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grands Echézeaux 1971

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 97 NM.
"Tasted at Christies’/Linden Wilkie’s 1971 dinner. This bottle is far superior to the one tasted a couple of years ago. It has a truly spellbinding bouquet that is just pure, unadulterated Pinot Noir. Hints of light red cherry, orange essence and rose petals, heavenly delineation and lift. The palate has just a hint of honey on the entry and then fans out beautifully across the tongue, seducing the senses with its iron-tinged, crisp red fruit. Just the poise coupled with intensity here, that only a great Burgundy can achieve. Long and languid towards the finish that really do not want to end. Tasted April 2011." Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jan 2012
Provenance: The Multitude Cellar
Notes: 3.5cm, Capsule cut to reveal vintage, torn capsule, heavily scuffed, torn label.
