91 JG. "The 2016 Gevrey villages bottling here is excellent and quite black fruity in personality this year. The nose wafts from the glass in a mix of black cherries, sweet dark berries, espresso, dark soil tones, raw cocoa, gamebirds and a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely balanced, with a good core of black fruit, nice soil drive and a long, fine-grained and tangy finish. This is still quite primary and will want a few years in the cellar to blossom, but it will be excellent." John Gilman, View From The Cellar, Dec 2017 |
